In South America, the slaves death rates were so high and the birth rate was so low that they did not have enough slaves without the African slaves being transported there. They were; blindness, abdominal swelling, bowed legs, skin lesions, convulsions, pellagra, tetany, rickets, and kwashiorkor. Those were the main diseases for the slaves in South America, so that meant that South America had to import tons and tons of slaves from Africa to make up for all of the slaves that have died from these diseases.
